Imendra Ranatunga, M.A., M.S., DABR

Biography

Mr. Ranatunga joined West Physics after the completion of his Master’s of Science Degree in Medical Physics at Hofstra University in New York. Throughout his graduate studies, he completed two research projects entitled Investigation of Patient Dose from Computer Tomography Examinations and Mammosite Brachytherapy Dosimetry: effect of contrast and air interface on skin dose.

Before joining West Physics, Mr. Ranatunga worked as a Medical Physicist for one of the leading healthcare systems in Sri Lanka. During that time he performed quality assurance testing of diagnostic imaging systems as well as medical laser systems.

Mr. Ranatunga is originally from Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Chad Burns, M.S.

Biography

Mr. Burns attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering.  
 
Prior to joining West Physics, Mr. Burns worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Tech Research Institute where he researched the photon attenuation variation of military vehicles for the characterization of dose rate measurements.
 
During his studies at Georgia Tech, Mr. Burns worked as a Health Physics Technician where he assisted the institute’s Office of Radiation Safety to meet all safety and compliance requirements for a research university with a broad scope license. After graduating, Mr. Burns joined West Physics in June 2018 where he is currently working as a Health/Medical Physicist.
 
Mr. Burns is originally from Hoschton, GA.

Katie Dobry, M.S., DABR

Katie

Biography

Ms. Dobry attended the University of Georgia, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy. As an undergraduate, she developed an interest in diagnostic imaging while doing research in the MRI sector of the UGA Veterinary School. Ms. Dobry succeeded her undergraduate work at the Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue her Master’s Degree from their CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics program. During her graduate studies, she gained clinical medical physics experience at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA and Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Dobry joined West Physics in May 2019 with the acquisition of Phoenix Technology Corporation, after 6 years of consulting experience as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist.

Ms. Dobry is originally from Savannah, Georgia.

Shana Cuff, B.S.

Shana

Biography

Ms. Cuff graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, as a dual major, with a B.S. in Health Physics and a B.A. in Anthropology.  While in college, she interned in the ALARA department at a nuclear power plant, became certified as a radiation emergency responder, participated in a research project on investigating radon levels, and did field work at an archaeological site in New Mexico.  After graduating college, Ms. Cuff joined West Physics in August 2016. She is currently working as a Health Physicist.
