Biography
Prior to joining West Physics, Mr. Brookins spent several years as a consulting medical physicist for Phoenix Technology Corporation in Atlanta, GA. During his tenure there he filled many technical roles, including serving as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) at two of the largest hospitals in Georgia.
Mr. Brookins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics from Francis Marion University in South Carolina. During his time there, he developed an iOS application that estimated a person’s annual radiation dose using a questionnaire and an algorithm which utilized location-specific radiation exposure data. Mr. Brookins then earned a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics from Duke University. His research during his time at Duke was in standardization of SUV measurements across scanners in PET imaging.
Mr. Brookins is originally from Florence, South Carolina.
